Frozen Shoulder

When the Shoulder Becomes Stiff and Painful

Also known as adhesive capsulitis, frozen shoulder is a condition where the shoulder joint becomes stiff and painful due to inflammation and thickening of the capsule around the joint. It often starts slowly and worsens over months.

Common in people with diabetes or after long periods of shoulder immobility.

Treatment Options:

  • Conservative: Physiotherapy to improve range of motion, pain medications, and steroid injections

  • Advanced: Arthroscopic capsular release in stubborn cases

Early mobility and stretching exercises are the best prevention.
