Subacromial Impingement

Pinching Pain During Movement

If you feel shoulder pain while lifting your arm or reaching overhead, you may be dealing with subacromial impingement. This occurs when the tendons of the rotator cuff get compressed under the acromion (top part of the shoulder blade), causing pain and inflammation.

Treatment Options:

  • First-line: Physiotherapy, posture correction, and anti-inflammatory medication

  • Persistent pain: Steroid injections or arthroscopic decompression to make more space for the tendons

Early treatment helps prevent the progression to rotator cuff tears.
